Lorne Sulcas
Lorne Sulcas was born and educated in South Africa, and holds degrees in Architecture and African Studies from the University of Cape Town.
After his graduate studies in the Behavioral Sciences, Lorne was employed in 1988 as a Training Consultant and Facilitator for the Lifeskills Education Project and for M.A.S.T. (S.A.) (Management and Skills Training) for three years. Between 1990 and 1996, Lorne worked as a Game Ranger and Safari Guide in South Africa’s Kruger National Park, and managed Selati Lodge at Sabi Sabi, South Africa’s premier private game reserve. Whilst in the United States for a year in 1994, Lorne was contracted to author and present his “Naturally Resilient” keynote address to corporate clients of ODR®, an Atlanta-based change management consulting firm.
Lorne’s photographs of African wildlife have been published in editorial and commercial publications and books in South Africa, the United Kingdom, and in the United States, including those of Audubon, AWF, the Sierra Club, WWF, and the Wildlife Conservation Society. Lorne currently lives in Colorado, U.S.A., and is a keynote speaker and performance consultant to organizations and entrepreneurs seeking to build capacity. His Bush Lessons™ presentations apply patterns and principles from natural systems to topics such as organizational sustainability, team effectiveness, leadership, competition, and the management of change.
