Gunnar Brückner
Gunnar Brückner is an experienced Executive, Human Resources Professional, Knowledge Management and e-Learning Specialist and a Coach. Before starting his own company, until October 2002, he was Chief Learning Officer of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). UNDP is the largest grant-based multilateral development organization and coordinator of United Nations activities in more than 135 countries worldwide.
Right now he is back in Germany where he manages his Canada-based company (coachingplatform Inc.) that provides consulting services in the area of staff development, support to creating a learning culture, addressing the people side of knowledge management initiatives, coaching and team process consulting, as well as issues dealing with internal and external communication. coachingplatform Inc. has also developed an online collaboration software which is marketed under the same name.
His thinking and actions are shaped by more than 14 years practical experience in a multicultural and global context including extensive assignments in Latin America and Africa in countries such as Brazil, Colombia, El Salvador, Angola, and a few others.
As a Learning Strategist and Learning Coach, Gunnar Brückner is most familiar with interventions at the organizational, group, and individual level. Most recently he envisioned UNDP’s learning strategy and implemented complex staff development and learning initiatives, such as the development of a sophisticated, custom-made electronic portal for learning that facilitates the management of and accessibility to granular, learning-related knowledge. The platform provides an intuitive tool for integrating the collective power of global virtual networks and communities of practice, the creation of which is another focus of his work.
He has a Masters Degree in Sociology and a Certificate in Organizational Development and he enjoys sharing his experience with large groups at international fora and individually upon request whenever opportunities present themselves. He is proficient in German, English, Spanish, Portuguese and conversant in French.
